- This is a maintenance release for the stable 1.12.x series and, as such, it delivers an assortment of bug fixes and other improvements over previous releases in this series. In particular, this version includes an important regression fix for non-QWERTY keyboards, and a few fixes for long-standing UI and terrain graphics issues.
As on previous occasions, we also offer two versions of the changelog: a trimmed-down players changelog including only those items considered to be relevant in regular gameplay, and a more technical full changelog for enthusiasts and content creators.

To install/update Battle for Wesnoth 1.12.6 on Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial Xerus, Ubuntu 15.10 wily werewolf, Ubuntu 15.04 vivid Vervet, ubuntu 14.10 Utopic Unicorn, Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr (LTS), Ubuntu 13.10/13.04/12.04, Linux Mint 18 Sarah, Linux Mint 17.1 Rebecca, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Linux Mint 13 Maya, Pinguy OS 14.04, Elementary OS 0.3 Freya, Elementary OS 0.2 Luna, Peppermint Five, Deepin 2014, LXLE 14.04, Linux Lite 2.0, Linux Lite 2.2 and other Ubuntu derivative systems, open a new Terminal window and bash (get it?) in the following commands:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:vincent-c/wesnoth
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install wesnoth-1.12
After installation is completed. open terminal and follow the command to run wesnoth :
$ wesnoth
To remove The Battle for Wesnoth, do :
$ sudo apt-get remove wesnoth
