SystemRescueCd 4.3.1 Is a Powerful and Easy to Use Recovery OS

SystemRescueCd is a very famous Linux distribution that has been developed with a single purpose in mind, to be a system rescue disk that is able to run from bootable CD-ROM or USB stick. As the name implies, this OS is only useful after your computer has already crashed and you really need the data.

As usual, the main component that has been updated in this distro is the Linux kernel. The kernel branch has remained the same, but a smaller update has been made nonetheless.

The Linux kernel is now at version 3.10.53 (rescue32 + rescue64), the alternative Linux kernel has been updated to version 3.14.17 (altker32 + altker64), GNU Parted is now at version to 3.2, GParted 0.19.1 has been added by default, and the available file systems have been upgraded as well (e2fsprogs-1.42.12, btrfs-progs-3.14.2, fuse-exfat-1.1.0).

For more details about the new features and changes, take a look at the official changelog. You can download SystemRescueCd 4.3.1 right now from Softpedia. Keep in mind that this is Live CD.
