DigiKam 4.5.0 released, Install in Linux Mint 17.1, 17, 16 and Ubuntu 15.04, 14.10, 14.04 KDE Based Distro

Hello, we want to show you About DigiKam 4.5.0 released, Install in Linux Mint 17.1, 17, 16 and Ubuntu 15.04, 14.10, 14.04 KDE Based Distro via ppa. The digiKam Team is proud to announce the release of digiKam Software Collection 4.5.0. This release includes bugs fixes and switch as optional some dependencies as libkipi, libkface, libkgeomap dedicated respectively to support Kipi plugins, Face management, and Geo-location maps. By this way we will be able to port digiKam to KF5/Qt5 step by step.

DigiKam is a photo management application, designed for importing, organizing and exporting digital photos to your computer. It has a simple and fast interface. It also has a quick Image Editor, and allows you to comment, rate, correct or alter photos.

What New in this release :
  • digiKam has a hard dependency on Jasper library
  • Make face detection (kface) and geo tagging (kmap) optional features
  • thumb focus is lost after renaming
  • bad performance when Tag-related Sidebars (Tag management / Filter) are open
  • Clear text button on file rename does nothing
  • When build digikam from git and package libpgf is installed, no way to use internal digikam libpgf
  • thumbnail date information not updated when writing metadata to image
  • settings and installation windows freeze when valid mariadb/mysql db connection is available
  • Import not showing image thumbnails for certain Canon cameras
  • digiKam goes into infinite loop when working with tags/captions information tab templates
  • cmake and/or compiler pick up libkgeomap header files from previous version
  • Identity class miss d private container to improve binary compatibility
  • Compiler error: ambiguous reference to ratio variable
  • Select ‘recent’ albums containing MOV or .xcf(Gimp) files. Immediate crash occurs.
  • KIPI-plugins can not be deactivated on non-English locales
  • White Balance: Unable to specify exposure compensation
  • Wallet icon for grouped photos is conceptually confusing
  • make fails on imagedescedittab.cpp has no member named ‘textEdit’
  • No auto-rotation/flip Images after download
  • Advanced slideshow shows not all pictures under certain conditions
  • Add Album Category as a search criteria
  • Ratings with rating == 0 cannot be selected on the left sidebar
  • Floating Cards brings digiKam with non-English locales to crash and missing parameter text
