We present Xiaomi Tool useful software for Linux and Windows with which we can easily backup and restore, recovery etc Xiaomi device.

There are many users who buy every day device produced by Xiaomi, a famous Chinese manufacturer also developer of the MIUI ROM. Given the success of Xiaomi, the XDA developer have recently released an interesting software to operate in a device manufactured by the Chinese as Linux and Microsoft Windows.
Xiaomi Tool is an open source software that allows us to carry out numerous useful device Xiaomi operations such as backup and restore MIUI mobile operating system based on Android owner supported by over 200 devices.

With Xiaomi Tool we include the Root permissions (both in MIUI custom ROM that), make sure that our device is original and not “fake“, we can also switch from Dalvik to ART and vice versa, install a custom recovery, operate in the memory inside with the ability to create / manage partitions, make new Flash ROM, Flash zip file. Xiaomi Tool also allows us to make a screenshot of our display from pc, install new applications and import / synchronize our images with those of the PC.

I want to clarify that the software supports only device Xiaomi, we can not use it with MIUI Android device.

  
 Install Xiaomi Tool
Xiaomi Tool is available for Linux and Microsoft Windows from this page.

For Linux, Xiaomi Tool works in the command line, the software does not require any installation that you just installed adb and fastboot for Ubuntu and just type in a terminal:

sudo apt-get install android-tools-android-tools adb–fastboot

For Ubuntu 12.04 and earlier just consult this guide.

Now we can download Xiaomi Tool for Linux, extract the zip file and move the folder in unix–XiaomiTool home and type in a terminal:

cd
mv XiaomiTool-unix XiaomiTool
cd XiaomiTool

We connect our Xiaomi device to a USB port of the PC and terminal type:

cd XiaomiTool
./Start.sh

Xiaomi Tool will verify our device, once verified we will have a list of the various features available, just enter the number and press enter related.
